Sir William Sidney (c. 1482 –1554) was an English courtier under Henry VIII and Edward VI. Life. Sidney was eldest son of Nicholas Sidney, by Anne, sister of Sir William Brandon.
Admiral Sir William Sidney Smith GCB GCTE KmstkSO FRS (21 June 1764 – 26 May 1840) was a British naval and intelligence officer. Serving in the American and French revolutionary wars and Napoleonic Wars, he rose to the rank of Admiral.
Nicholas Sidney and Anne Brandon were the parents of William Sidney ( c .1482–1554), the grandfather of Philip (1554–86) and Mary Sidney (1561–1621).
