John Cameron of Lochiel (1663–1747) was a Scottish Jacobite and the 18th Lochiel of Clan Cameron. He was the father of several prominent Jacobite figures, including Donald Cameron of Lochiel, otherwise known as the Gentle Lochiel, who played an important role in the 1745 Jacobite Rising.
John Cameron of Lochiel (eighteenth chief), the eldest son of Sir Ewen, was born about 1663. His first "appearance" on the historical scene was as leader of the clan after the Battle of Killiecrankie, after his father had returned to Lochaber.
Colonel John Cameron (1771–1815), son of Ewen Cameron, 1st Baronet and grandson of John Cameron of Fassiefern – a brother of the Gentle Lochiel, was another distinguished military commander, whose family became baronets as a result of his martial success.

In 1745, when Charles Edward Stuart came to Scotland, Lochiel at first refused to meet him but eventually went to the Bonnie Prince.
