Panayot Ivanov Hitov (Bulgarian: Панайот Иванов Хитов) (November 11, 1830 – February 22, 1918) was a Bulgarian hajduk, national revolutionary and voivode. Born in 1830 in Sliven (known as İslimiye at the time), he became a hajduk in Georgi Trankin's band of rebels in 1858.

By their armament, accoutrements, clothing and tactical skills, the cheta armed detachments of Panayot Hitov, Filip Totyu, Hadzhi Dimitar, Stefan Karadzha, etc. (created with regard of realizing Rakovski’s views), are close to the requirements for a regular army.
The surviving rebels from the bands of Panayot Hitov and Filip Totyu joined the Legion, as well as young people from Bulgaria and the Bulgarian diaspora in Romania.
