  7. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Earl of Bath on 30 Apr 1539. He succeeded to the title of Baron of Daubeney on 8 Apr 1548. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor in 1553. He was one of the first to declare the right of Queen Mary to the Crown. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset in 1556.
