Sir Richard Pole, KG (1462 – October 1504) was a supporter and first cousin of King Henry VII of England. He was created a Knight of the Garter and was married to Margaret Plantagenet, a member of the House of York. The marriage reinforced the Tudor alliance between the houses of York and Lancaster.
Pole sirvió como Gobernador de los Estados Pontificios en Viterbo y luego como uno de los tres cardenales nombrados por el Papa Pablo III para convocar un Concilio General en Trento en 1543. Pole tuvo que viajar disfrazado y por una ruta tortuosa para evitar a los agentes de Enrique VIII.

Richard’s father, a Welshman, was buried in Bisham Abbey, the mausoleum of the Montagu Earls of Salisbury in 1479.
14 de mar. de 2019 · Sir Richard Pole died in October 1504. After his death, Margaret was left to raise five children in the difficult financial situation she was left in after her husband’s death. Her jointure was not sufficient for the circumstances she inherited.
