  6. Although Berkshire was well enough to dine on 4 June 1669 at the home of Henry Bennet, Baron (later earl of) Arlington, with John Evelyn and others, he died on 16 July and was buried in Westminster Abbey four days later .41 He was succeeded by his eldest son as 2nd earl of Berkshire.
