En el actual primer patio del capitolio se encuentra una placa en bronce y en relieve, realizada en 1881 por Ferdinand von Miller, que representa ese primer momento en que Reed sostiene el “plano original” que contiene la fachada y la planta del capitolio.
Ferdinand Miller der Ältere, ab 1851 Ritter von Miller (* 18. Oktober 1813 in Fürstenfeldbruck; † 11. Februar 1887 in München ), war ein bayerischer Bildhauer und Erzgießer. Als Inspektor der Königlichen Erzgießerei fertigte er die monumentale Bavaria in München und viele weitere Denkmäler.

Ferdinand von Miller created the gigantic work with the help of two of his sons, Ferdinand, who modelled the four children with animals, and Fritz, a goldsmith and teacher at the Royal School of Arts and Crafts in Munich, who modelled the children in the niches on the base, and of the sculptor August von Kreling (1819-1876).
