Kirsten Elizabeth Gillibrand (née Rutnik; / ˈ k ɪər s t ən ˈ dʒ ɪ l ɪ b r æ n d / ⓘ KEER-stən JIL-ib-rand; born December 9, 1966) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from New York since 2009.
In the past 10 years, Off the Sidelines has raised more than $10 million to help hundreds of women candidates run for office and it has helped elect some of the Democratic Party’s brightest rising stars. Kirsten is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the UCLA School of Law.
