Karol Libelt (8 April 1807, neighborhood of Chwaliszewo in Poznań, Duchy of Warsaw - 9 June 1875, Brdowo) was a Polish philosopher, writer, political and social activist, social worker and liberal, nationalist politician, and president of the Poznań Society of Friends of Learning.

Prehistoric archaeology constituted an important topic in the writings of Karol Libelt during the final stage of his work. As a result of several years' research and bringing up this subject in his texts, Libelt made notable achievements in the field of prehistoric archaeology.
Karol Liebelt A Polish philosopher and politician, born on April 8, 1807 in Poznan in an artisan's family. During 1826-30, Liebelt studied philosophy, classical languages and natural sciences at the Berlin University where he earned his doctorate for the thesis " De pantheismo in philosophia " prepared under G. F. Hegel.
