George Cavendish, 1st Earl of Burlington (31 March 1754 – 9 May 1834), styled Lord George Cavendish before 1831, was a British nobleman and politician. He built Burlington Arcade.

On 10 September 1831, the earldom of Burlington was revived when their third and youngest son Lord George Cavendish was created Baron Cavendish of Keighley, in the County of York, and Earl of Burlington, in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.

The only inherited letters from Richard Burlington, 3rd Earl of Burlington to exist in CS1 are those written to Lady Burlington or the Cavendishes. A large proportion of the surviving letters sent to and kept by the Dukes of Devonshire and their heirs is preserved in this collection.
5 de may. de 2024 · George Cavendish was the third son of the 4th Duke of Devonshire and an exceptionally long-serving Whig Member of Parliament. In 1831 he was created the 1st Earl of Burlington, a revival of his grandfather's title.
