Theodore Strickland [1] (born August 4, 1941) is an American politician who served as the 68th governor of Ohio from 2007 to 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the United States House of Representatives, representing Ohio's 6th congressional district (1993–1995, 1997–2007).
Strickland led the development of a strong and growing new energy economy in Ohio. He introduced and signed legislation that mandates that 25 percent of all electricity sold in Ohio must come from advanced energy sources by 2025 – which will make Ohio the 3rd largest producer of renewable energy in the nation.

Theodore Lawrence Strickland (September 17, 1932 – March 14, 2012) was an American politician who served as the 39th Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1973 to 1975 under Governor John D. As governor, he focused on improving the climate for businesses in Ohio, in part through tax reductions and regulatory overhaul. He saw Ohio win the Governor’s Cup from Site Selection magazine for its success in economic development.
