Shastriji Maharaj (31 January 1865 – 10 May 1951), born Dungar Patel: 3 and ordained Shastri Yagnapurushdas, was a swami of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya and founder of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).
Shastriji Maharaj was the third spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and formalized the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Born as Dungar Bhakta in Mahelav, he was known from a young age for his strong conviction in Bhagwan Swaminarayan, His philosophy, and His spiritual successors.
Dharmajivandasji Swami (18 June 1901 – 5 February 1988), commonly known as Shastriji Maharaj, was a Hindu saint, social worker and founder of the Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan. During his lifetime, he established branches of Swaminarayan Gurukul in Rajkot, Junagadh and Ahmedabad.
