Karl Leonhard Reinhold (26 October 1757 – 10 April 1823) was an Austrian philosopher who helped to popularise the work of Immanuel Kant in the late 18th century.
Carl Leonhard Reinhold (* 26. Oktober 1757 [1] [2] in Wien; † 10. April 1823 in Kiel) war Philosoph und Schriftsteller. Er gilt als der wichtigste aus Österreich stammende Vertreter der deutschen Aufklärung.

Austrian philosopher who worked in Germany. Reinhold was professor at Jena from 1787 to 1794, and subsequently at Kiel. After a period as a follower of Kant, he veered towards the idealism of Fichte and of Jacobi, eventually rejecting their idealism in favour of a kind of realism associated with C. G. Bardili.
