Ala al-Dīn Ali ibn Muhammed (1403 – 18 December 1474), known as Ali Qushji (Ottoman Turkish : علی قوشچی, kuşçu – falconer in Turkish; Latin: Ali Kushgii) was a Timurid theologian, jurist, astronomer, mathematician and physicist, who settled in the Ottoman Empire some time before 1472.

Hijo del halconero real que sirvió al legendario astrónomo Ulugh Beg, Qushji tomó cursos de ciencias lingüísticas, matemáticas y astronomía, así como otras ciencias enseñadas por Beg y sus protegidos.

12 de sept. de 2014 · El orientólogo W.Barhold califica de “el Bartolomé del siglo XV ” a Qushji, conocido como un ilustre singular en el mundo científico de Occidente y Oriente. El apellido “Qushji” es “halconero” en turco. Porque su padre, Ulugh Beg era el primer halconero. Ali Qushj i nació en la región de Turquestán.
