Giacomo Filippo Fransoni (10 December 1775 – 20 April 1856) was an Italian prelate and cardinal who served from 1834 to 1856 as prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith. He was the cardinal priest of the Church of San Lorenzo in Lucina at the time of his death.

Giàcomo Filippo Fransoni was born in Genoa on December 10, 1775. When French troops invaded Genoa during the Revolution, his family went to live in Rome, then.
Following the French occupation of Rome, he was arrested on June 1, 1812 for refusing to take the oath of loyalty and was imprisoned in Civitavecchia; he was later relegated to Milan.

Nacque a Genova il 10 dic. 1775 dal marchese Domenico e da Battina Carrega. Anche il padre del F., meteorologo e studioso di C. Colombo nella vita privata, ebbe un posto di rilievo in quella pubblica e fu senatore nel 1784, poi membro del Collegio dei supremi sindacatori.
