  6. Gertrude Falkenstein was the daughter of an apothecary from Bonn. Her father died early and her mother married again. On 29 May 1822 she married Karl Michael Lehmann (1787-1882), a lieutenant in the Prussian army.

  7. At its peak, the Falkenstein area, excluding from scattered estates, encompassed the Dreisam Valley from the mouth of the Krummbach upwards and the catchment of the Rotbach to Lake Titisee, from there northwards as far as Thurner and southwards to the Feldberg, including the village of Zastler.
