Gedymin o Gediminas (en ruteno, Гедимин, en polaco: Giedymin, Vilna, c. 1275 – ibídem, invierno de 1341) fue un gobernante medieval del Gran Ducado de Lituania de 1316 a 1341, lo que significaba gobernar sobre los lituanos y sobre una gran parte de la Rus de Kiev. Gediminas (Latin: Gedeminne, Gedeminnus; c. 1275 – December 1341) was Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1315 or 1316 until his death in 1341. He is considered the founder of Lithuania's capital Vilnius (see: Iron Wolf legend). During his reign, he brought under his rule lands from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea.

Gediminas (born c. 1275—died 1341) was the grand duke of Lithuania, the strongest contemporary ruler of eastern Europe. Gediminas succeeded his brother Vytenis (Witen) in 1316 and started the Gediminian dynasty , which included his grandson Jagiełło, later Władysław II of Poland.
Standing 48-metres tall, the hill is one of the highest points in Vilnius Old Town, making it a perfect spot to get a 360° view of the city. On one side you can see the red rooftops of the Old Town, and on the other the modern city with glass skyscrapers and the Neris River flowing.
