Welf II (c. 960/70 - died 10 March 1030) was a Swabian count and a member of the Elder House of Welf.
The oldest known member of the Swabian group was Welf I, a count in Swabia who was first mentioned in 842. According to legend, Welf I was a son of Conrad, son of Welf , count of Altdorf, the ancestor of the Burgundian group.

27 de abr. de 2022 · Welf II (died 10 March 1030) was a Swabian count and a member of the Elder House of Welf. He opposed the election of Conrad II in 1024 because it did not suit his interests, but he had to eventually relent.[1]
During the dispute between Konrad IV King of Germany and the papal party, led by Willem II Count of Holland as its figurehead and anti-king, Swabia was largely anti-Staufen.
