Countess Charlotte of Hanau-Lichtenberg, full name: Countess Charlotte Christine Magdalene Johanna of Hanau-Lichtenberg (2 May 1700, Bouxwiller – 1 July 1726, Darmstadt) was the wife of landgrave Louis VIII of Hesse-Darmstadt.

The County of Hanau-Lichtenberg was a territory in the Holy Roman Empire. It emerged between 1456 and 1480 from a part of the County of Hanau and one half of the Barony of Lichtenberg. Following the extinction of the counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg in 1736 it went to Hesse-Darmstadt , minor parts of it to the Hesse-Cassel .
Biography. Gräfin Charlotte Christine Magdalene Johanna von Hanau-Lichtenberg was born 2 May 1700 in Bouxwiller to Johann Reinhard III. von Hanau (1665-1736) and Dorothea Friederike von Brandenburg-Ansbach (1676-1731) and died 1 July 1726 Darmstadt of unspecified causes.
In 1717, he was married to Countess Charlotte Christine of Hanau-Lichtenberg and he received Hanau-Lichtenberg as an addition to his dominions. His mistress was Helena Martini. Because of his passion for hunting, he is known as the "Hunting Landgrave" (German: Jagdlandgraf).
