Ivan Asen II (died 1241) was the tsar of the Second Bulgarian empire from 1218 to 1241, son of Ivan Asen I. Ivan Asen overthrew his cousin Tsar Boril (reigned 1207–18) and blinded him, proclaiming himself tsar.
