Habibullah Khan (Pashto/Dari: حبيب الله خان ; 3 June 1872 – 20 February 1919) was the Emir of Afghanistan from 1901 until his assassination in 1919. He was the eldest son of the Emir Abdur Rahman Khan , whom he succeeded by right of primogeniture in October 1901.
Ḥabībullāh Khan (born 1872, Tashkent, Russian Turkistan [now in Uzbekistan]—died February 20, 1919, Kalagosh, Afghanistan) was the ruler of Afghanistan from 1901 to 1919. Maintaining satisfactory relations with British India, he introduced needed reforms in Afghanistan and steered his country on a moderate political course.

In his coronation speech he announced his interest in pursuing policies of national unity, resistance from foreign aggression, and reform. His goal was to achieve an absolute Afghan central government.
