Thomas Arthur Steitz ( Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 23 de agosto de 1940- New Haven, Connecticut; 9 de octubre de 2018) fue un profesor y químico estadounidense. Biografía. Thomas A. Steitz Biographical . I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1940, and my family lived in an apartment above a paint store in the downtown area until 1949. Although my father had obtained a law degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, he became the administrator in charge of personnel at the Milwaukee County Hospital.
Thomas Arthur Steitz (August 23, 1940 – October 9, 2018) was an American biochemist, a Sterling Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University, and investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, best known for his pioneering work on the ribosome.
