Andrew Alexander Ranicki (born Andrzej Aleksander Ranicki; 30 December 1948 – 21 February 2018) was a British mathematician who worked on algebraic topology. He was a professor of mathematics at the University of Edinburgh.

26 de feb. de 2018 · Andrew Ranicki has died. Ranicki was a topologist, with particular expertise in algebraic surgery. Indeed, Ranicki had the unusual title of Professor of Algebraic Surgery at the University of Edinburgh. (Andrew was a special case for almost everything.)
