    Ashoke Sen is Professor at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad. He received his PhD from the SUNY at Stony Brook in 1982. He has made pioneering contributions to the development of string theory. He has been awarded the ICTP prize in 1989, S S Bhatnagar Award in 1994 and the Third World Academy prize in 1997.
