Rokotov, Fedor Stepanovich. I. A. (Vorontsovo?, Moscú, h. 1735-San Petersburgo, 1808). Pintor ruso. Probablemente provenía de una familia de siervos del príncipe Repnin. Fyodor Rokotov is an important figure in the Russian art of the XVIII century; he is mainly known as the master of the portrait painting of the Enlightenment, and his outstanding talent can be compared perhaps only to Dmitry Levitsky, another exceptionally gifted portraitist.
