Leslie Marmon Silko (born Leslie Marmon; born March 5, 1948) is an American writer. A woman of Laguna Pueblo descent, she is one of the key figures in the First Wave of what literary critic Kenneth Lincoln has called the Native American Renaissance .

Silko, of mixed Laguna Pueblo, white, and Mexican ancestry, grew up on the Laguna Pueblo reservation in New Mexico, where she learned Laguna traditions.

Leslie Marmon Silko (nacida Leslie Marmon; nacida el 5 de marzo de 1948) es una escritora estadounidense. Mujer de ascendencia Laguna Pueblo, es una de las figuras clave de la Primera Ola de lo que el crítico literario Kenneth Lincoln ha llamado el Renacimiento Nativo Americano.
Since then, Silko has remained one of the most respected contemporary American writers: her short story collection, Storyteller (1981), was well received and, in the same year, Silko was awarded the famed MacArthur Genius Grant. Her other novels include Almanac of the Dead (1991) and Gardens in the Dunes (1999).
9 de may. de 2023 · Leslie Marmon Silko was born 5 March 1948 in Albuquerque, of Laguna, Mexican, and white ancestry, and raised on the Laguna Pueblo Reservation where she went to school until transferring to a Catholic high school in Albuquerque and later studying at the University of New Mexico.
