Walter Harzer (29 de septiembre de 1912 - 29 de mayo de 1982) fue un comandante alemán de las SS de la era Nazi. Comandó la División SS Hohenstaufen y la División SS Polizei. Walter Harzer (September 29, 1912 – May 29, 1982) was a German SS commander during the Nazi era. He commanded the SS Division Hohenstaufen and SS Polizei Division. After the war, Harzer became active in HIAG, a lobby group established by senior Waffen-SS men in 1951 in West Germany.
At the start of Market Garden, Walter Harzer had almost no experience as a commanding commander. He had been appointed commander of the 9th SS Panzer Division only recently. But from a German point of view, Harzer won a glorious victory during the fighting at the Battle of Arnhem.
