Henry Churchill de Mille (September 17, 1853 – February 10, 1893) was an American dramatist and Georgist, and the father of film pioneers Cecil B. de Mille and William C. de Mille, and the paternal grandfather of the dancer and choreographer Agnes de Mille.
17 Sept. 1853–10 Feb. 1893. Henry Churchill deMille, playwright, was the son of William Edward and Margaret Blount Hoyt deMille, both of Washington, N.C., where young deMille was born. During the Civil War his father joined the Confederate Army and the family refugeed to Greenville.

Henry Churchill De Mille was an American playwright, whose thorough knowledge and understanding of the technique of the stage enabled him to do skilful work in the revising and reshaping of plays by other hands for production at the Madison Square, where he was closely associated with Steele MacKaye and David Belasco.
