Antonia Susan Drabble (Sheffield, Yorkshire del Sur, Inglaterra, 24 de agosto de 1936-Londres, 16 de noviembre de 2023), [1] [2] conocida como A. S. Byatt, fue una novelista, poeta, profesora y filóloga británica.

Byatt ( / ˈbaɪ.ət / BY-ət ), [1] was an English critic, novelist, poet and short story writer. Her books have been translated into more than thirty languages.
Byatt publicó por primera vez en 1964 y a lo largo de su trayectoria escribió tanto novela como ensayo y crítica. Entre sus libros destacan Posesión ( Premio Booker 1990), El libro negro de los cuentos , La virgen del jardín , Naturaleza muerta , La Torre de Babel y El libro de los niños (finalista del Premio Booker en 2009).

Her book, The Children's Book (2009), was shortlisted for the 2009 Man Booker Prize for Fiction and won the 2010 James Tait Black Memorial Prize (for fiction). Her latest publications are Peacock & Vine (2016) and the short story 'Sea Story' (2013). A. S. Byatt lives in London.
