Alfonso VI de León, llamado «el Bravo» (1040/1041 [1] -Toledo, 1 de julio de 1109), hijo del matrimonio de Fernando I de León y Sancha, fue rey de León entre 1065 [2] y 1072 en un primer reinado y entre 1072 y 1109 en un segundo, de Galicia entre 1071 y 1072 y también entre 1072 y 1109, y de Castilla entre 1072 y 1109.

Sancho II allied himself with Alfonso VI of León and together they conquered, then divided, Galicia. Sancho later attacked Alfonso VI and invaded León with the help of El Cid, and drove his brother into exile, thereby reuniting the three kingdoms.
