Alice Montacute (1407 – before 9 December 1462) was an English noblewoman and the suo jure 5th Countess of Salisbury, 6th Baroness Monthermer, and 7th and 4th Baroness Montagu, having succeeded to the titles in 1428. Her husband, Richard Neville, became 5th Earl of Salisbury by right of his marriage to Alice.

It wasn’t a foregone conclusion that Alice would be an heiress as her father married Alice Chaucer, the poet’s grand daughter, so it wasn’t beyond the bounds of possibility that he could have had a son.
When Alice Montagu was born on 18 October 1405, in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, her father, Thomas Montagu IV Earl Salisbury, was 17 and her mother, Eleanor of Holland Countess of Salisbury, was 19. She married Sir Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury before February 1421, in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.
