Tecklenburg Castle is a ruined fortificationin Tecklenburg, used today as an outdoor theatre. The castle was built around 1250. Anna of Tecklenburg-Schwerinmade a lot of structural changes. Around 1700, the castle was dilapidated and its brick and stone was used for other buildings in Tecklenburg, leaving nothing but a ruin.
Eleanor Marie was a daughter of Prince Christian I (1568-1639) from his marriage to Anna of Bentheim-Tecklenburg (1579-1624), the daughter of Count Arnold III of Bentheim-Tecklenburg-Steinfurt-Limburg.

Anna von Tecklenburg-Schwerin (* 5. Juli 1532; † 24. August 1582) wurde am Freitag nach Mariä Verkündigung im Jahr 1530 oder 1532 auf Schloss Rheda geboren. Als ungefähres Geburtsdatum wird in diversen Quellen der 5. Juli 1532 bestimmt.
Biography. Countess Anna of Bentheim-Tecklenburg was born in Bentheim on 4 January 1579 to Arnold III, Count of Bentheim-Steinfurt-Tecklenburg-Limburg and Magdalena of Neuenahr-Alpen. On 2 July 1595 she married Christian I, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg in Lohrbach. They had sixteen children: Frederick Christian (b. and d. Amberg, 2 May 1596).
