Blundell's School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in the English public school tradition, located in Tiverton, Devon. It was founded in 1604 under the will of Peter Blundell , one of the richest men in England at the time, and moved to its present site on the outskirts of the town in 1882.
A site was chosen beside the River Lowman, and the school opened in 1604. Blundell had given directions to establish scholarships, which became focused on Balliol College, Oxford, and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, with which close ties are still maintained. It is our privilege to welcome pupils to our school and then to walk beside them as they negotiate their journey into adulthood. We are immensely fortunate to be situated in an idyllic location.
