Charles XI or Carl (Swedish: Karl XI; 4 December [O.S. 24 November] 1655 – 15 April [O.S. 5 April] 1697) was King of Sweden from 1660 until his death, in a period of Swedish history known as the Swedish Empire (1611–1721).
Charles IX was the virtual ruler of Sweden (1599–1604) and king (1604–11) who reaffirmed Lutheranism as the national religion and pursued an aggressive foreign policy leading to war with Poland (1605) and Denmark (1611).

Charles IX de Suède (en suédois : Karl IX av Sverige) est un prince de la dynastie Vasa né le 4 octobre 1550 à Stockholm et mort le 30 octobre 1611 à Nyköping. Dernier fils de Gustave Ier, il est roi de Suède de 1604 à sa mort, après avoir assuré la régence du royaume dès 1599.
