Chronology. 1867 Carl (later Charles) Urban is born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on 15 April 1867, the second child and eldest son of Joseph Urban (34), a sign painter from Ronsberg, Austro-Hungary, and Anna Sophie (née Glatz) (33) from Koenigsberg, East Prussia.
