Frances Burke, Countess of Clanricarde, Dowager Countess of Essex (née Walsingham, formerly Devereux and Sidney; 1567 – 17 February 1633) was an English noblewoman. The daughter of Sir Francis Walsingham, Elizabeth I's Secretary of State, she became the wife of Sir Philip Sidney at age 16.
In 1603, Clanricarde married Frances Walsingham, the widow of Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, daughter of Francis Walsingham. [5] Richard and Frances had one son: Ulick, his successor [6] —and two daughters: Mary, married Edward Butler of Ballinahinch, 6th son of James Butler, 9th Earl of Ormond as his 2nd wife [7]

Frances Walsingham (født 1569, død 13. februar 1631) var datter af sir Francis Walsingham, Elizabeth I af Englands efterretningschef, og Ursula St. Barbe . Hun blev hofdame for Elizabeth I, og giftede sig i 1583 med poeten og hofmand Philip Sidney. Han døde bare tre år senere, i 1586.
