Manfred Gerlach (Leipzig, 8 de mayo de 1928 - Berlín, 17 de octubre de 2011) [1] fue un jurista y político de la República Democrática Alemana (RDA). Manfred Gerlach (8 May 1928 – 17 October 2011) was a German jurist and politician, and the longtime leader of the East German Liberal Democratic Party. He served as Chairman of the Council of State and was thus head of state of East Germany from 6 December 1989 to 5 April 1990.

Manfred Gerlach (Lipsia, 8 maggio 1928 – Berlino, 17 ottobre 2011) è stato un politico tedesco. È stato l'ultimo e quinto presidente del Consiglio di Stato della Repubblica Democratica Tedesca dal 6 dicembre 1989 al 5 aprile 1990, prima che l'assemblea fosse sciolta. Manfred Gerlach (8 May 1928—17 October 2011) was the last President of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany), and the only non-communist to be president. [1] Born in Leipzig in 1928, Gerlach was arrested at school in 1944 for starting an anti-fascist youth group. [1]
