Necropolis. Graves at the Necropolis in Glasgow, Scotland. A necropolis ( pl.: necropolises, necropoles, necropoleis, necropoli [1]) is a large, designed cemetery with elaborate tomb monuments. The name stems from the Ancient Greek νεκρόπολις nekropolis ( lit. 'city of the dead' ).
