Rudolf, Crown Prince of Austria (Rudolf Franz Karl Josef; 21 August 1858 – 30 January 1889) was the only son and third child of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria and Duchess Elisabeth of Bavaria (Sisi). He was heir apparent to the imperial throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from birth.

El archiduque Rodolfo de Austria (en alemán: Rudolf von Österreich-Ungarn; Laxenburg, 21 de agosto de 1858 - Mayerling, 30 de enero de 1889), fue el único hijo varón del emperador Francisco José I y de su esposa, la duquesa Isabel de Baviera. Fue príncipe heredero al trono de Austria, Hungría y Bohemia.
La tragedia, drama o crimen de Mayerling es el nombre dado a la muerte violenta de Rodolfo de Habsburgo, heredero del Imperio austrohúngaro, y su amante la baronesa de Vetsera, el 30 de enero de 1889, en el pabellón de caza de Mayerling, cerca de Viena.
