Sophia Eleonore of Saxony (23 November 1609 – 2 June 1671) was a duchess of Saxony by birth and the landgravine of Hesse-Darmstadt from 1627 to 1661 through her marriage to Landgrave George II. She was the eldest surviving child of John George I, Elector of Saxony, and Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia.

Anna Sophia was a daughter of George II, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and Duchess Sophia Eleonore of Saxony. She was raised as a Lutheran, received a good education and grew up to be strictly religious.

She was a daughter of Landgrave George II of Hesse-Darmstadt (1605-1661) from his marriage to Sophia Eleonore (1609 - 1671), the daughter of Elector John George I of Saxony. Life . In Darmstadt on 21 April 1650 Sophia Eleonore married to her cousin, Landgrave William Christoph of Hesse-Homburg (1625-1681).
