In condensed matter physics, the Su–Schrieffer–Heeger ( SSH) model is a one-dimensional lattice model that presents topological features. [1] It was devised by Wu-Pei Su, John Robert Schrieffer, and Alan J. Heeger in 1979, to describe the increase of electrical conductivity of polyacetylene polymer chain when doped, based on the ...
The Su-Schrieffer–Heeger (SSH) model¶ The simplest non-trivial topology : 1-d lattice. Peierls instability makes the atoms dimerize.
The Su-Schriefer-Heeger (SSH) model is a topological quantum system model with a simple structure, but it has very typical topological properties [1–6], such as the winding number that characterizes the topological prop-erties, the correspondence between bulk states and edge states, etc. [7–11].
20 de jun. de 2019 · Some of the fundamental ideas behind the topological insulators, particularly in low-dimensional condensed matter systems such as poly-acetylene chains, can be understood using a simple one-dimensional toy model popularly known as the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model or the SSH model.

10 de abr. de 2020 · We show that the tight-binding representation of the 1D photonic crystal, based on Maxwell's equations, corresponds to a Su-Schrieffer-Heeger--type model (SSH model) for each set of pairs of bands. By expanding this representation near the band edge we show that the system can be described by a Dirac-like Hamiltonian.

31 de ene. de 2024 · is the Su–Schrieffer–Heeger (SSH) model. It consists of a noninteracting tight-binding model of connected dimers. Such a model, introduced for the first time in 1979 to describe the transport properties of polyacetylene [10], is the nonsuperconducting analog of the Kitev chain [11], thus experimentally and theoretically more accessible,
30 de may. de 2019 · The Su–Schrieffer–Heeger (SSH) model perhaps is the easiest and the most basic model for topological excitations. Many variations and extensions of the SSH model have been proposed and...
