Cham (German pronunciation: ⓘ; Czech: Kouba) is the capital of the district of Cham in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria in Germany.
The Upper Palatinate was located in northern Bavaria, on both sides of the Naab River as it flows south toward the Danube, and extended eastward to the Bohemian forest. The boundaries of the Palatinate varied with the political and dynastic fortunes of the counts palatine.
