1935. gadā Jelgavas apriņķa Jaunsvirlaukas pagasta platība bija 93 km² un tajā dzīvoja 2139 iedzīvotāji. [4] 1945. gadā pagastā izveidoja Jaunsvirlaukas un Staļģenes ciema padomes, bet pagastu 1949. gadā likvidēja. Jaunsvirlaukas ciems ietilpis Jelgavas (1949-1962, pēc 1967. gada) un Bauskas (1962-1967) rajonos.
