Vladivostok (/vlədʲɪvɐˈstok/ ⓘ, en ruso: Владивосток, en chino: 海参崴, pinyin: Hǎishēnwǎi) es una ciudad portuaria de Rusia ubicada en el Extremo Oriente Ruso, capital del Distrito federal del Extremo Oriente y centro administrativo del Krai de Primorie.
Vladivostok is the second-largest city in the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as the Russian Far East, after Khabarovsk. It is located approximately 45 kilometers (28 mi) from the China–Russia border and 134 kilometers (83 mi) from the North Korea-Russia border.
On April 28, 1880 (May 10 Gregorian style), Vladivostok was officially proclaimed a city and a separate administrative unit from Primorskaya Oblast. At that time the city population was 7,300, double that of 1878. Three hotels were in operation: the Moscow, the Vladivostok, and the Hotel de Louvre.
