Irvin Feld (May 9, 1918 – September 6, 1984) was a business entrepreneur who built a chain of record stores, promoted rock groups, produced concerts involving some of the biggest names in popular music. He was also the head of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and founder of Feld Entertainment. [1]

The humble beginnings of Feld Entertainment ® date back to 1938, when Founder Irvin Feld opened a drugstore in Washington, D.C. One of his store’s best-selling items was records, and eventually he opened a chain of record stores and became a record producer.
Soon after Mattel's Irvin & Kenneth Feld Productions purchased Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice in 1979, the company approached Disney about doing a Disney-related show on ice. Feld Productions licensed the rights to Disney material for ice shows. In 1981, they began productions under the name Walt Disney's World on Ice.

Irvin Feld died in 1984 and the company has since been run by Kenneth. In 1990, the Seminole Gulf Railway , who took over the rail line serving the Venice facility in 1987, could no longer support the show's train cars, which led the combined circus to move its winter base to the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa .
