9 de abr. de 2024 · Since inception, NASA has selected 360 astronaut candidates: 299 men, 61 women; 212 military, 138 civilians; 191 pilots, 159 non-pilots. As of Jan. 2023, there are 41 active astronauts, 18 management astronauts, 10 astronaut candidates, and 288 former astronauts or payload specialists, including those who have left NASA, and those who are deceased.

25 de jun. de 2023 · On June 4, 1998, NASA announced the selection of 25 new astronauts, 21 men and four women, comprising the 17 th group of astronauts chosen by the space agency. The group included eight pilots and 17 mission specialists.
