The Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) was founded on 22 June 1977, when most congregations of the Methodist Church of Australasia, about two-thirds of the Presbyterian Church of Australia and almost all the churches of the Congregational Union of Australia united under the Basis of Union.

The Uniting Church in Australia Assembly acknowledges the sovereign First Peoples of the lands and waters where we work in locations across the country. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and to all their descendants who have cared for this place since creation.
Welcome to the Uniting Church. Called by God. Since we began in 1977, we have been following Jesus, working for justice, growing as disciples and serving communities in these lands now called Australia.
The Uniting Church is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia and the first church to be created in and of Australia. On any Sunday more than 2,500 congregations worship at a Uniting Church including many congregations that worship in languages other than English.
21 de jun. de 2022 · Past. Today we commemorate the 45 th anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia. A great deal of change has happened over the years since 22 June, 1977 when the Uniting Church was inaugurated. The Uniting Church was formed as a result of the ecumenical movement which was strong in the middle part of the 20 th century.
Uniting Church members worship Australia-wide in congregations and faith communities, from the middle of our cities to the heart of our regional towns and beyond, in many languages other than English including Indigenous languages, embracing many different worship styles.
