The company is named after Steven Spielberg's 1968 short film Amblin'.The logo doesn't appear on Schindler's List, instead having the words "From Amblin Entertainment" appear at the end of the closing credits; however, the print logo does appear on advertisements for...Elliott and E.T. (who are riding a bicycle) from the 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrialare the company's official mascots.The original Amblin Entertainment logo appeared in some of the company's films during their ending credits and in some cases, the beginning of the movie. This logo was first shown with Gremlins (1984).
Named after a short film titled Amblin' (1968; which Spielberg also directed), its logo features the silhouette of the titular character E.T. riding in the basket of Elliott's bicycle flying in front of the moon, from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, in which they are the company's official mascots.
