After the elves and humans successfully escape the Shadow Palace, Licht and William Vangeance combine their magic to connect the elves to a giant tree through which Asta sends Anti Magic, negating the Reincarnation Magic.
Five centuries later, Patolli wakes up and finds he has been reincarnated into the body of William Vangeance, a human who resembles Licht. Finding that he cannot use William's grimoire, Patolli races to a grimoire tower and receives his own four-leaf clover.
