Jonathan Niven Cryer (born April 16, 1965) [1] [2] is an American actor, writer, producer, and television director. Born into a show business family, he made his motion picture debut as a teenage photographer in the romantic comedy No Small Affair (1984); his breakout role was as Duckie in the John Hughes -written film Pretty in Pink (1986). [3] .
